Common questions
Does Lens need an internet connection?
Only to sign in. The lessons are built into the app, so once you’re signed in every lesson works offline.
Why do I need to sign in?
Lens asks everyone to sign in with Apple or Google. Your account holds only your name, email address and an account ID; your progress stays on your iPhone. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Sign in with Apple doesn’t work.
Check that your iPhone is signed in to an Apple Account, under Settings, then try again. Sign in with Google works without one.
Is a real AI answering what I type?
No. Lens doesn’t send anything to an AI. Every reply you see in a lesson is written in advance and built into the app, to show how AI behaves. What you type stays on your iPhone and isn’t saved.
Do I have to take the lessons in order?
No. You can open any lesson from the Learn tab, or from the course map behind the book button on each unit. The Start label marks the next lesson you haven’t finished, as a suggestion.
I closed a lesson halfway. Where did my progress go?
A lesson is saved once you complete all three of its missions. If you close it before then, the missions you’d finished aren’t kept, so you start that lesson fresh next time.
How do XP and streaks work?
- Completing a lesson for the first time earns 15 XP.
- Your streak counts the days in a row on which you completed or replayed at least one lesson, or finished a game in the Practice tab.
- If a whole day passes without one, the streak starts again from zero. Replaying a lesson you’ve already finished, or playing a game, keeps it going.
- The games don’t earn XP, but each one keeps your best score, shown on its card in the Practice tab. Closing a game before the end doesn’t count.
How do I replay a lesson?
Open the Practice tab and choose it under Replay a lesson. Lessons appear there once you’ve finished them. You can also open any lesson again from the Learn tab.
How do I start over?
Open the Profile tab and tap Reset progress. It asks before clearing your XP, streak, completed lessons and best game scores, and it can’t be undone.
Will my progress move to a new iPhone?
Your progress is saved only on your iPhone, and Lens doesn’t sync it anywhere. Signing in to the same account on another iPhone doesn’t bring it with you. It’s included in your iPhone’s iCloud or computer backup, so restoring that backup onto a new iPhone brings it back. Deleting the app erases it.
How do I sign out or delete my account?
Open the Profile tab. Sign out keeps your account and your progress on this iPhone. Delete account, at the bottom, deletes your account and clears your progress; it asks you to sign in once more to confirm, and it can’t be undone. You can also email us to delete your account.
Which devices does Lens run on?
Lens is designed for iPhone and needs iOS 17 or later.
